Choosing Your Knives

We bring together distinctive designs, carefully chosen materials, and blades sharpened by hand before shipping. Each collection has its own character, so you can choose knives that suit both your cooking and your personal style.

We also sell directly to our customers, reducing distributor markups and keeping the focus on the knives themselves: their steel, handles, construction, and finishing details.

Absolutely. Start with the jobs you already do: chopping vegetables, trimming meat, slicing a roast, or preparing a family dinner. Choose a set with the blade shapes that match those tasks.

You don’t need professional training to appreciate a sharp, well-balanced knife or enjoy using a tool that feels right in your hand.

Think about what happens before and after the cook.

For trimming and preparing meat, look for boning and fillet knives. Explorer includes both, alongside a chef knife and two cleaver shapes. Midnight offers a substantial feel with a chef knife, Serbian cleaver, fillet knife, utility knife, and petty knife.

If carving and serving are a big part of the occasion, Wildrose includes an eight-inch slicer for roasts and brisket.

Buying for someone else? Their favorite cooking tasks are a great starting point.

A three-piece set makes a focused upgrade, especially if you already own a few knives you enjoy using. A five-piece set gives you a broader selection of blade shapes for different jobs.

Compare the included knives as well as the number of pieces. The best set is the one that fits how you cook.

Yes. All of the knives we sell including our Explorer, Midnight, Wildrose, and Hanzo collections are sharpened by hand before shipping. They’re ready for food preparation after an initial hand wash and thorough drying.

Gifts and Packaging

They’re a thoughtful choice for someone who enjoys cooking, entertaining, or spending an afternoon at the grill. A distinctive knife set combines something personal with something they can reach for every day.

Choose by the recipient’s taste and cooking habits: Explorer for rustic character, Midnight for a bold black finish, Wildrose for patterned Damascus, or Hanzo for Japanese-style precision.

Knife Care

Wash them by hand and dry them thoroughly after use. Avoid the dishwasher and leaving them soaking in water.

This simple routine helps protect the blade, handle, and finish so your knives stay ready for the next meal.

Store clean, completely dry knives in their individual sheaths or wooden sayas, or use a suitable knife block or magnetic holder.

Keep the cutting edges protected and avoid leaving knives loose in a drawer where they can knock against other utensils.

Sharpen when cutting performance starts to decline, using a whetstone or suitable sharpener at the angle specified for your knife.

Regular honing with a honing rod will help keep the edge straight and reduce the amount of sharpening required.

The correct angle and maintenance tools can vary between collections. If you’re unsure what to use, tell us which knives you own and our team can help.
